Details: This is a 40 year old handmade vintage Central Anatolian rug. Due to the people that make these kinds of rugs it is called a ‘Yoruk’ rug. The famous 'shield Kazak' design of the Caucasus is reinterpreted in this beautiful 1960's vintage rug. Shield design is used as the bold medallion in these designs, and in this rug the shield is placed on a rust field with leaf, star and animal designs around. Border design is highly geometric and the background color is ivory.
