Details: This is a 60 year old handmade vintage Western Anatolian rug. It is a woven rug, these kinds of woven handmade rugs are called ‘kilim’ rugs. Due to the region it comes from this rug is called a ‘Kars’ rug. This kilim rug has three strips of tribal symbols across the entire design, with three symbols placed next to each other at each strip. These symbols are called ‘ram’s horn’. The three strips have wave-like motifs, symbolizing water. Water is a symbol of fertility and a good harvest.

Rug Care: You can use your vacuum to clean your rug. For small stains, spot clean instantly with a damp rag (preferably cotton) and soap. Do not wash your rug, for a thorough cleaning take it to a carpet cleaner.
Storing your rug: If storing for an extended period of time we strongly recommend you roll your rug before storing. It is important to store your rug in a dry place, preferably not completely dark. Once taken out of storing open your rug in the hot sun and leave it there for 4 - 5 hours.
